70 percent of the devices in the Internet of Things are vulnerable to hackers

Internet of Things promises to man a comfortable future in which home and office gadgets freely interact with each other. However, according to new research by Hewlett-Packard, this concept is threatened by hackers.

Internet Gadgets

The researchers studied 10 species of smart devices, such as TVs, web-cameras and thermostats, and found that 70 percent of the gadgets as part of the Internet of Things are subject to cracking. On average, each connected device had 25 different software vulnerabilities. This means that 10 units are 250 flaws in the security system, which can be to their advantage to use the attacker. This gives hackers plenty of space to maneuver and indicates a probable future in which intelligent appliances susceptible to cracking.

Weak links analytics Hewlett-Packard called weak passwords, lack of encryption of data and the lack of security checks using the plug device.

But that's not all. According to the forecast Pew Research Center, in the next twenty years, almost all electronic devices will be combined Internet of things. This means that now the main emphasis should be placed on the security of the smart home and office.

According to the researchers, several security breaches one mobile device to connect to the Internet of things can turn into 50-60 challenges which will get it from other devices connected to the same network.

According to the forecast Gartner, by 2020, the Internet of Things will total 26 billion devices. Time to solve the security problem is still there. And she plans to do DARPA .
